The prolonged recession has forced families to cancel their vacations in the last two years; this fact combined with the stress caused by the uncertainty lived during the recession makes for a very compelling argument to justify vacationing in the coming years.

Although investing in vacation real estate property might require a bit more work, it is a nice diversification to add to you real estate property investment portfolio. It make a great investment when the economy is doing well, and during low season you can enjoy it yourself. This type of real estate property investment does not provide consistent cash flow, during high season the cash flow levels are high and during low season there is barely any cashflow, thus one must manage the finances of such investments with care. Vacation real estate property should represent a precentage of your portfolio, rather than the entire portfolio. Afterall real estate is an investment vehicle that requires diversification just like any other investment.
