When most people think of real estate property investment they only picture structures such as houses and buildings but not open land or lots, but this is an area of great potential for the right type of investors. However, land or lots can be very profitable real estate property investments.

There are long listings across the country for land and open spaces in urban and rural areas. Unlike investments in commercial and residential real estate, land, requires a lot of research and calculation of the numbers, determining whether the open space is worth the value of time and capital for buying and reselling. As with other real estate, you can keep looking for land or lots, which were minimized in value, and may require work in order for resale.

You should consider the price of real estate and keep pace with the federal and local standards, codes that can impact the transaction of the real estate property on the open market, this takes time and some capital flow, but if you can think that you have found the correct real estate property and you can get a good return with little time and energy then it worth the effort. Open land, including farmland, or open areas not included provinces, private consumption and investment is another area of real estate property interest, and deserves a closer look.

As in any other real estate property investment, you should look for areas of possible growth and look at the demographics, real estate property and road construction and other civil construction plans are important in determining the best areas to help focus you attention and dollars. A new trend is to preserve the land for conservation, individuals and nonprofit groups, sometimes buy open land for its natural beauty, either as gifts or as park preserves.
